The London Cantata Choir was
founded by its current Musical Director, Peter Moorse in 1974 as a concert
chamber choir of 24 voices,
singing in some of London’s top musical venues.
Regular concerts were given in London’s South Bank centre, St
Martin’s in the Field as well as singing performances of Bach’s St Matthew
Passion in St Paul’s Cathedral on Good Fridays.
Since
1986, the choir has become a
Cathedral deputy choir, singing regularly in some of the finest English
Cathedrals.
